We love cruising the Muskegon! And we love using Wisner to do it!! Keep up the fantastic service, it won't be our last visit.
Great place to go, easy to book online, and very affordable. The river was beautiful and clean; not too fast of a current. Our small group did the 4.5 hour trip, and we absolutely loved it! Will definitely be going back.
This was a nice 2.5 hour canoe trip on the Muskegon River. They drive you to the put in where they have the canoes ready to go. These are Old Town canoes so very comfortable. This section of river has a nice current with a few rocks and dead falls to avoid. There were a couple low spots but if you pay attention you can avoid hitting bottom. We ended our trip at the Wisner take out and a short walk to our car.
We brought our own kayaks, but the rest of our crew rented a raft and 2 tubes. We were left behind, but the owner took us, and our rentals, up to the Thornapple launch in their personal vehicle which was nice. Overall, it was a good experience. The business seems very interested in the money. The wording chosen to present information on bringing your own equipment and making your own plans for transportation is a wild choice and gave me a bad vibe.
Had a super fun time! We took tubes down the 2.5 hour float and we had a very nice relaxing time. The cooler tube was definitely worth it as it did get a bit toasty and it was nice to have the drinks that we brought along stay cool. We started at 11 and ended roughly around 2 since the river was flowing a bit slower than usual. We saw lots of turtles and a couple of herons, but we were told that if you come out even earlier you see even more wildlife.
My first time tubing with my kids today was a great time at Wisner! The river was just magnificent! The staff were all friendly and courteous. The directives for exiting were spot on. The driver arrived at the exact time they told us that he was going to. The drive back is about 10 minutes and the driver was safe to ride with. He packed all of the tubes, canoes, and kayaks very quickly. A shout out to Rachel who personally returned my late evening phone call to the business phone number to confirm that we could still come out in the morning without making the weekday reservations. She was so super kind! If we come back into town again will be visiting Wisner again!
Everyone there was super nice and accommodating, and the float was great! Will definitely be back.
The front end service was fabulous! Easy to book, with online rentals and waivers and plenty of parking! However, the back end was terrible! They don't have enough or large enough buses so there were 90 tubes and at least four large groups waiting with no clear queueing this year and last year. It got so bad this time that we only ended up having the three drivers in our group take the bus and then drive back to get us, and they STILL beat the next bus to get us. And worse, there were so so many people still waiting for the wisner bus. Pinky's tubes had a much more regular pick up.
